Duck Egg Blue Sewing Machine!

SewingMachine

Look what we found in a charity shop!!! Spurred on by my lovely daughter I couldn’t walk past it and it is now mine πŸ™‚

Judging by the cover it’s probably 1950’s, it’s in great condition, has instructions and it sews! Who’d have thought they made them in this gorgeous colour!

Wow! What a gem πŸ™‚ I use my late mother-in-laws green Husqvarna for piecing patchwork. It looks quite similar to the design of your Jones and, it too, sews beautifully. You’ll have great fun using it! Avis x

I’m just enjoying looking at it at the moment. Glad you’re enjoying yours, I think it will take me a while to work out how to free up one hand to turn the handle!

Any chance you can scan and post your manual? Your machine looks like mine which says ‘Made in USSR’ but mine seems to be locked as handle turns smoothly but needle does not move despite being tightened. Help!

Sorry Diane, no manual just some instructions on how to thread it (I think). Unfortunately it doesn’t sew either, it looked like it did but when I took it to be serviced they discovered the wheel was glued together and we can’t find a replacement. It still looks lovely though πŸ™‚ Have you got someone close by who can take a look at it?

Unfortunately it never did stitch. Something had been glued inside it. Hope yours works!
