stitching, quilting, fabric, projects
What a weekend!
We’ve just had a fantastic weekend away in Broadstairs – quilting!
Belinda found us a wonderful house on the seafront, big enough for us, seven sewing machines and countless unfinished projects. It was trying to snow most of the weekend but we were cosy inside stitching, knitting and crocheting in front of the fire – the best way to see off February.
Elaine kindly provided Champagne and we had a trip down memory lane with a few Babychams followed by Fish and Chips – healthy! – OK for a few days. The girls also brought homemade, soup, scones and chocolate cake, yum. What great mates.
It was amazing how many of those projects got finished and a few more got started.
I’m not much of a cook so my contribution was a Mug + Cosy for everyone, which got used next to the machines for seam rippers and bobbins.
Nicky stuck pins in too – why not!
Broadstairs has plenty of eateries, pubs and also has a lovely wool shop (that sells our favourite Clover crochet hooks) and a surprising linen tardis opposite, with dishcloths, piping, lacy hankies and the odd fat quarter.
…..and we did sneak out to check out some of the music in the Blues Festival.
Thanks girls, I think we should do this again next year 🙂
