Jo Blox

Inspired by the many great blogs of quilters meetings, I’ve put together a few pics of our fantastic quilting group, Jo Blox.

I’m afraid these pics are not as good as the lovely photos by Meredithe of Pomegranate and Chintz but they will give you an idea of what we get up to.

Firstly we’re supposed to be a quilt group but knitting has crept in there as it’s so portable.

These are a very special pair of socks by Belinda, modeled by H to check the size. Aren’t they gorgeous.

As you can see wine features quite highly but we also drink tea sometimes.

These lovely embroideries are by Nicky and Teresa, inspired by a pattern in Stitch magazine.

Becky was finishing off a knitted T. Shirt from Mollie Makes and was choosing the binding for her quilt started on retreat (pattern by Janie Lou).

She went with the background colour and it’s now completed!

These little hexies are by Nicky, you can see the finished article over on her blog.

We’re all in love with Jessica Alexandrakis new book, Quilting on the Go.

Steph and Belinda had been on an Oast Quilters workshop and produced these beauties using Karin Hellaby’s technique from her book Exploding Pineapples (taught by Isabel Hall with permission).

and Elaine has been hand stitching apple cores for a top secret project!

There is always much laughter, swapping of skills and plenty of inspiration. As the nights draw in, the photos will get darker so I’ll make this the last attempt at trying to capture the industry of such evenings for a while. Miss you guys x

Green with envy at all the lovely projects. My machine is still not unpacked after my move, have to do some renovating first and hope a strong young man will turn up soon to help me move furniture around. ong to sew again! XX Ilse

You could be hanging around a long time for a strong young man, hope you have someone in mind! Maybe some crochet pot holders are on the cards?
