stitching, quilting, fabric, projects
The Art of Quilting magazine issue 91 (wow)! is out now in the UK and will be available in France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand in a few weeks time.
The editor Annie approached me about my textile art and to my delight has included a double page feature in the gallery section. These works are still patchwork but are hand dyed and only one layer so do not constitute quilts – as you know I also make quilts and she has included one of those too. The largest piece which was commissioned by Kent County Council, is 3m x 1m and was part of a residency at Lamberhurst school. The fabrics were dyed by the children and the fixative for all of the dyes was mixed by Class 5 – in a maths class!
This magazine is a weekly installment publication that includes fabric and instructions to complete a quilt.
