Out and About

Something we’ve been meaning to do for ages is visit a lake in Pennsylvania and hang out in a cabin in the woods, so this weekend that’s what we did. Lucky us, as it was all organized by some dear friends. There weren’t many leaves on the trees yet so the woods looked a little sparse but we were ahead of the season so it was VERY quiet.

This beautiful cabin was ours for 3 days and the weather was good enough to get out on the lake (someone caught some fish)! We had a few Barbeques, tasted a few bottles of bubbles and sat in the sunshine.

This chap came to visit but not for long!

I bound a small quilt, finished my filet scarf, knitted up a little hat and we visited the local town. I couldn’t resist taking a picture of this.

And we raided the thrift store, of course.

Another hand embroidered table runner and some more crochet cotton were acquired. And I thought you’d like to see this old Singer that was tucked away in a corner of the cabin, along with a little wooden sewing table.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend

Nice! Leaves on trees are a long time coming this year, aren’t they?

Wow yes, I was surprised they are even a few weeks behind NYC but I guess it was colder up there for longer. They were just starting to come out that weekend, it’ll be green very soon.

That’s quite a “cabin”! It sounds like you had a great retreat, with the added benefit of the beaver sighting. Were you tempted to take the old Singer home? It’s a beauty.
