Blogaversary Flowers

Hello there,

it’s time to celebrate my second year of blogging so I’m going to share some flowers from my Kentish garden with you. I haven’t done a garden post for a while.

I hope you like irises as they have done well this year, I’ve been splitting them and trying them in different spots.

BeardedIrisMay

This bearded iris has just opened, in the background some wild rose petals on the lawn.

FlagIrisMay

There are four of these flag irises every year.

PeonyMay

Two peony blooms out at the same time and a large clematis by the shed.

GreengagesMay

Lots of greengages, the tree is laden with fruit for the first time, very exciting!……………and this delicate iris was moved from my Grans garden years ago so it’s extra special and I love to see it flower.

It’s great to get out in the garden again 🙂

Happy days!

I love irises (that doesn’t sound right in the plural does it?) – every time I see a friend or neighbour with some of the lovely bearded ones, I nab a bulb or two for our garden (I ask first of course :)). However, the flag iris type is actually native to the Pyrenees so we get banks of them flowering in our garden every year for no money and no work which is always something to be thankful for in gardening terms!

Beautiful flowers, all of them! Those same flowers are not blooming yet here so this gives me a sense of what I have to look forward to!

Those Iris are drop-dead gorgeous!!! The color intensity was wonderfully captured in your photos. I have some mini-Iris that did well this year. The Peonies have yet to burst forth…..but they will be in their full glory soon……..’tons’ of them this year!!!!
Happy Blogaversary and congrats!!!!! Here’s to many more posts!!! Hugs……………………
