Oast Quilters with Gill Turley

OastBanner_edited-1
(Oast Banner with roundels from all of the groups that belong)

Last Saturday Oast Quilters gathered in Canterbury for a talk by Gill Turley.

Gill likes to collect textiles from markets in France and recycle them into quilts. She had lots to show us.

The next quilt was made from “aprons and drawers” (in her words) and was the sample for the workshop on Sunday.

The traders this month were Little Lavender Patch, The Fabric Fairy, The Sewing Shop and Fabrics Galore. I couldn’t resist these…..

……you didn’t think I bought just one piece of fabric did you?!

It’s always lovely to catch up with everyone and see what they’ve been up to, this time I got to go on the workshop too! There will be some interesting quilts in the show and tell at the next meeting. Thanks Gill for a fun day “fileting” shirts 🙂

The “aprons and drawers” workshop piece is a “winner” for sure. I, also, like the stripey diamonds above that photo…..reminds me of diamond fans. Your “stash builders” are going to yield great results…..soon?? LOL! Thanks for sharing……………
