Sculpture in the Gardens

Friday night saw the opening of the Sculpture in the Garden Show at Godinton house, Kent. An already successful event, this year is bigger and better. More artists have created a diverse collection of works beautifully placed in the various gardens within the grounds. Soooooo much to see! I recommend a visit, the show is on until 17th August but here’s a little peak.

This amazing “Fully Air Conditioned” structure in willow by Maggie Johns and Lief Bruylant took three days in full sun to construct. They were sporting good sun tans when I bumped into them!

Neville Langleys clay pots adorned the pond

This wooden sculpture is by Tim Riddihough.

I love the bats by Michael Kusz, perfectly placed too.

Glass bunting amongst the pear trees, by Pia Carti.

And of course there’s the gardens themselves!
It was a beautiful evening to wander amongst the flowers and grasses and discover more pieces at every turn. I also got to catch up with good friends and see what they’ve been up to 🙂 There is lots more to see, go and visit if you can – they’re for sale too!

Those bats are so sweet! I can see them making it onto a quilt one day!

There are some “k”night bats with helmets on too, such fun!

What a wonderful display of creativity! So many different visions and they all look delightful!

I like the bats best too! Very impressed with the steampunk Dalek though so might change my allegiance.

Haha, I couldn’t even begin to choose my favourite. The huge dandelion by Paul Wells in amongst the wild grasses took my breath away.

  4. The structure is fabulous by Maggie Johns and Lief Bruylant.
