This woodwork shop called Wood-n-Ware is upcycling pallets into useful garden benches, chairs, tables, planters, troughs and trellis. I went along to buy a few gifts and support this local non-profit venture.

Andy passes on his skills to vulnerable adults and oversees the creation of these wonderful items. This is where the pallets are stripped.

Many items are on display around the workshop – bird feeders, robins nesting boxes, bug and bat boxes amongst others, aren’t they fab! They also have RSPB approved designs available.

Interesting hangers and racks were still drying.

Larger items including planters, benches and trellis can be ordered by phone (and are very affordable). They will also be at Ashford Market this coming weekend so go along and visit them – think Christmas presents!

They also have a facebook page if you’d like to see more of their products.

Such a good idea to upcycle stuff others throw away.

I was impressed how they keep their waste to a minimum. They trade what they can’t use for other wood they can.
