Pantone Colour of 2015

It’s always interesting to look at trends, especially at this time of year. Fashion week predicted natural hues, very soft and pastel for spring 2015. This is Pantone’s colour of the year:

Marsala  –   “A naturally robust and earthy wine red”

My initial thought was –  urgh!

Brown is not my thing but having looked at the colour schemes and combinations Pantone have put together on their website, I can see it has potential.
It works very well with duck-egg blue, turquoise, grey, taupes and chartreuse – now there’s a combination! I wonder how long we’ll have to wait until this filters through into patchwork prints? – I might be tempted 🙂

Moda’s Primitive Muslin (cotton) in “Barn Red” has been my fave for a while along with anything with the name “Turkey Red”. Glad to see it’s getting the recognition it deserves and my stash is all of a sudden current!!!!!! LOL!!!

Good to know. I can work with this one. Last year’s orchid and the previous emerald didn’t seem to go with anything.

Happy 2015, Mandy! Pantone always seems to pick colours I like. And this year, it also worked well with my “Happy Ewe Year” post 🙂 ♥ ❤
