A few finishes and a little bit of Spring

The weather is not so good here in Kent today. I was rather hoping to show you around the garden a bit but it’s too cold and gloomy. So instead I’ll share with you a few small knitting projects I’ve completed using up left over wool. I don’t knit a lot, I dabble, trying out small projects and experimenting.

This “Vanessa” cable headband designed by Nancy Ricci for Ravelry used up some Madelaine Tosh light and Austermann Merino 105 knitted together. I love the pattern and will probably buy the suggested weight yarn to make another proper one sometime in the future.

This childs hat, made up as I went along, finished up some wool I had hand dyed with Koolaid. Ice blue raspberry and Grape were used separately in a dye bath to get a range of colours from pale turquoise through denim, lavender and grape.

I did get out into the garden a few days ago when the sun was shining and took these.

It’s only mid March, I know but I’m chomping at the bit to get out there!

Your Koolaid wool is lovely. The lawn edging made me smile!

A lot of effort went into collecting enough of the right colour bottles Chris 🙂 (Sauvignon Blanc)

Hi, I’m curious – what’s the purpose of the bottles upside down in the garden? We saw that a lot in Florida too.

It’s a way of reducing the pile of recycling you put out so your neighbours don’t judge you so harshly.
(If the ones you saw in Florida were plastic, they may have been cut to act as a funnel to get water to the root?)
