Snapshot of Festival of Quilts

For those of you who missed it, here’s a few pics from Festival of Quilts 2015

This stunning quilt in the traditional section is by Kyoko Yamauchi.

One of the galleries featured amazing thread work portraits by Jenni Dutton

This was in the Modern category by Ula Lenk

Friday night was the designer supper and interview with Zandra Rhodes. I caught up with her on the Lady Sew and Sew stand promoting her Lace Mountain collection.

The Sew and Quilt booth had a great selection of repro vintage prints by Lecien and some Moda American Jane. Also Elea Lutz Milk Flower and Sugar collection.

The Fairtrade Fabric booth had some fab new prints by Susie Huson with coordinating solids.

I got a few cuddles with Stuart Hillard, fellow Popular Patchwork contributor during the show.

The Warm Company were giving away free samples of wadding every morning and Moda bake shop were handing out mini charms of Janet Clares new collection “Nocturne”, due out in October.

This is what my clever students got up to in their Tricks with Strips workshop.

(with thanks to Gutermann and Timeless Treasures for their Studio C colour contributions)

After three days there I can say I didn’t see it all, it was a feast and I’m planning next year already!

Thanks for sharing the experience, Mandy. Quilts are amazing, and how nice to see Stuart – I liked him on GBSB.

Great show – a lot to see (and buy!). Was pleased to see the Stonefield quilt which won the visitors’ prize as am currently working on it as a Block of the Month exercise. Quite muted colours for me, but am having a bit of a hexxie fest. Those stripes look really interesting.
