Log Cabin fun in NYC

Yesterday I ran a workshop at City Quilter NYC. We had a lovely gentle day stitching, with everyone taking their ideas off in different directions. As usual, the fabric choices were very varied.

Lori chose mostly bright solids.

Nan used a selection from her vast scrap basket, memories of previous quilts.

Caroline was revisiting her stash to make a quilt for her cabin.

Toni had a rich selection of garment cottons, charms and fat quarters.

Lori’s progress

It felt like we were in a sewing oasis in the middle of the bustling city. Unfortunately Obama and The Pope didn’t stop by, but we did have a visit from the lovely Emily Klainberg and Amy Milne from the Quilt Alliance dropped in with many mini quilts which will be displayed around the store and auctioned online over the next few months.

It was great to meet you all, keep stitching these happy quilts, they are going to be stunning!

Thanks Mandy. A great class. Really appreciated your consultation on my fabric selections (super helpful) and your ease with making suggestions to tailor the project to fit my style/interests.
