Blanket Stitch Quilt

March issue of Popular Patchwork magazine is out this weekend and I’ve just received my copy in the post. I can finally show you what I’ve been working on, it’s on the cover! (They never let on you know)

I had an idea to translate the embroidery stitch into pieced patchwork. After a lovely visit to Cloud9 in New Jersey, Cirrus Solids seemed the perfect fabrics to work with. It was just choosing which combinations to go with, there was plenty to choose from as they have now added ten extra colours.

(my starting point, a few combinations of Cirrus Solids)

I loved working with these fabrics, they drape so beautifully and they will only get better with washing πŸ™‚

You can also see the article on my visit to Cloud9 and my interview with Ricky Tims inside this issue. I’m so lucky to meet so many wonderful people on my quilting journey.

More good news – I’ve also heard that I’m confirmed to teach at Festival of Quilts again this year, yay!

Hope you’re having a good week πŸ™‚

Very clever! It’s beautiful and you chose your colors well – as usual! Congratulations again on being the cover quilt. How many times have you been on the cover?
