A little more Festival

Having promised to post images of Festival through Instagram, it turned out that my phone wasn’t keen on the wifi on offer within the NEC and decided to rebel. It started taking pictures by itself (of the floor) and wouldn’t get past the various food outlet offers page, so I decided to just turn it off. So sorry for the random images here, but they are pretty much all I have.

This was taken on my camera. I love the quilt, it’s colour scheme and the design, by Kathy Unwin.

I meant to return to this amazing hexie quilt so I could get to see who it was by. It was swamped with people taking pics, a very popular quilt but I’m hoping someone else can tell me who made it.

I had a fun time demonstrating half hexies and chatting with readers on the Popular Patchwork stand. Look at all of the entries in their sketchbook quilt competition, they are all amazing, I couldn’t choose a winner.

My placemats project is in this September issue which was hot off the press for Festival.

And I have a few images from the Sunday morning Patchwork Party.

Lovely colour combinations from students who braved it out of their comfort zone into Improvisational piecing.

Jammy Dodgers, balloons and a few spot prizes weren’t really necessary to encourage these intrepid patchworkers. Once they had the fabric in their hands they were away. One of my students @lynnepusscat has already posted a picture of her finished quilt top on Instagram.

Gutermann very kindly provided cotton threads for the party bags for both of my workshops.

It’s been a whirlwind, I hope you manage to find more images of the many wonderful quilts on display.

Until next year………….
