stitching, quilting, fabric, projects
Did I know how cold it was going to be this week here in the UK? I must have had a premonition we’d be hunkering down this winter – we got off quite lightly last year.
The editor of Popular Patchwork magazine asked me to design a dark quilt for this December issue. I pulled out some snowy white basics from Dear Stella and some Carolyn Friedlander I’ve been dying to use from my stash. Along with a little scrap of aqua in my favourite Sketch print, they contrasted with a really dark navy from Makower (bought at The Sewing Space in Hythe).
This Icicles quilt pattern was hatched in no time, and is rather thrifty as you use the leftovers as you go. The magazine is available in WH Smiths now, look out for the cute reindeer cushion on the cover 🙂
