Chasing the Sunset

If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know I’m just back from a trip from the US. Having lived there for almost 5 years (this time around) there were lots of friends to catch up with.
I caught a different flight which left just before the sun had set, usually around 4.15pm at this time of year. About 5 hours into the flight I noticed the beautiful sunset out of the window.

(sorry about the quality of the image, hopefully you get the idea)

A little look at the inflight map showed we were just skimming the tip of Greenland.

I don’t know why I’d never thought about this before. The US are 5 hours behind. We were flying West – the sun sets in the West. The flight is around 7 hours long. So if I hadn’t been watching back to back movies, I could have watched the sunset for most of the journey!

I’ll post some images from my visit soon.
