Facing West

This quilt design “Facing West” is inspired by modern architecture. Lots of light and glass, simple structures.

The beautiful fabrics are from the Marrakesch collection by Gutermann. The range includes coordinating lights,  mediums and dark navy prints in patchwork weight cotton.  Alternating soft pinks and greens define each unit.

I used a solid white background so layered up with Warm and White cotton wadding. It is easy to use as it doesn’t stretch out like some blends and it keeps the quilt fresh and bright.

This cool October issue of Popular Patchwork magazine is in the shops this weekend!

* Pattern Correction

Cutting instructions No. 3 Cut two 5.1/2″ x 14.1/2″ strips should be 5 ½” x 18” strips

Thank you June for flagging this up, sorry for any inconvenience 😦
